Last updated: 29th December 2025

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions explain how you may use the Hoyland Pharmacy website and the services we provide as an NHS registered pharmacy.

By using our website or pharmacy services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or our services.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will always be available on this page.

We are regulated by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

3. NHS Distance Selling Pharmacy

Hoyland Pharmacy is an NHS distance-selling pharmacy. This means:

  • we do not provide face-to-face retail pharmacy services at the premises
  • our NHS services are provided remotely
  • we use delivery, telephone and digital communication to support you

We may use trusted delivery partners such as Royal Mail or courier services.

We can only dispense medication where there is a valid NHS or private prescription.

4. Using our Prescription Service

By choosing Hoyland Pharmacy as your nominated pharmacy, you agree that:

  • your electronic NHS prescriptions may be sent to us automatically
  • we may verify your GP practice and nomination status
  • we may contact you about your prescription, care or delivery

You may remove your nomination at any time by contacting us.

We cannot be responsible for paper prescriptions lost in the post.

5. Access to Medical Records

With your consent, our pharmacists and pharmacy technicians may access your NHS Summary Care Record where necessary to support your care and safety.

6. Deliveries

We deliver medicines in discreet packaging to UK addresses only.

Some medicines require a signature on delivery, such as refrigerated or controlled drugs.

Refrigerated medicines are transported in temperature-controlled packaging.

Delivery times may vary depending on location, weather, postal delays and other factors.

7. Emergency Supply

If you have run out of essential medication, please contact your prescriber urgently.

In certain circumstances, we may provide an Emergency Supply at the pharmacist’s discretion. Some medicines cannot be supplied this way.

8. Your Responsibilities

You agree that:

  • all information you provide is accurate and kept up-to-date
  • medicines are for your own use (or for a person you are legally acting for)
  • you will follow the instructions provided with your medication
  • you will read the patient information leaflet supplied
  • your GP’s instructions always take precedence over website information

If you falsely claim exemption from NHS charges, you may be liable for penalties.

Once medicines are dispensed, they cannot be returned for refund or reuse unless faulty.

9. Ordering Repeat Medication

Please request your medicines at least 7 days before you run out.

If ordering for the first time, allow 10 days.

Some GP practices do not allow pharmacies to order on your behalf — if so, we will inform you.

10. Liability

We do not exclude liability where unlawful to do so, including:

  • death or personal injury caused by negligence
  • fraud or misrepresentation

We are not responsible for losses arising from:

  • website downtime or access problems
  • business loss, profit loss or financial damage
  • delays outside our control (postal disruption, emergencies, etc.)

Our website is provided for NHS patient use only — not for commercial use.

11. Unwanted Medicines

Unwanted medicines should be safely disposed of at a local pharmacy.

Please contact us first if you wish to arrange return by post — do not send items without agreement.
